WDBJ Holds Moment Of Silence To Remember Alison Parker And Adam Ward

"The peacefulness of our community was shattered."
|

The news team of WDBJ held a moment of silence for their slain colleagues this morning in a touching tribute to "what made these two so special."

The station held the moment at 6:45 a.m., the same time Alison Parker and Adam Ward were shot and killed  on Wednesday by a former WDBJ employee while filming a story about the 50th anniversary of a lake. Anchor Kim McBroom held hands with weatherman Leo Hirsbrunner and Missouri anchor Steve Grant to remember their colleagues, because "that's the only way to do it," McBroom said through tears.

"The peacefulness of our community was shattered," she said. "This hurts all of us so much, but we will with time ... we will heal from this."
