Woody is finally about to get his own romantic comedy.

We already knew that "Toy Story 4" would be a love story , but now we know who it will be about. Ahead of this year's Disney D23 expo  on Friday, Pixar founder and Disney chief creative officer John Lasseter revealed the movie's new details to CNBC. "It's a love story with Woody and -- and this is news -- Bo Peep ," he said. So it's like every other '90s Tom Hanks film, just animated and probably with a storyline about looking for sheep.

But this news is even more interesting because it also means we will find out what happened to Bo Peep prior to "Toy Story 3." Fans of the movies will remember that Woody's love interest never appeared in the third film, besides a quick cameo in home movie flashbacks , and was referenced once when Woody confirmed she was one of the many friends the toy gang had lost. Pixar fans have pondered Bo's disappearance  for years, debating it on forums  and theorizing  all the possibilities -- Did she get sold in a yard sale? Did she run away? Did she break? No one knows, but now there's hope Lasseter, who's directing "Toy Story 4," will finally tell us where she's been.

For more, head to CNBC .

"Toy Story 4" opens June 16, 2017.
