D.A. Barber

D.A. Barbers 30-years as a science/energy business investigative journalist includes both print, and commercial and public radio news in New York, Los Angeles, and Arizona.After receiving a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Earth Science, Barber moved to Los Angeles where he received a 1981 Los Angeles Press Club Award for his environmental work in the LA Weekly, wrote for a variety of California publications, and produced local and national radio news reports. He also independently produced a public radio documentary on Three Mile Island at KPFK-FM and a weekly environmental public radio news program for two years at KCRW-FM.Barber spent a stint as news director at a New York State commercial radio station and as publisher/editor of weekly and monthly upstate New York publications before moving to Arizona as Program Director for community radio station KXCI-FM. There he produced several weekly radio news programs including an environmental program that aired state-wide in Arizona, and a second radio documentary on the environmental movement that aired nationally on Earth Day 1994.Barber's coverage of sub-Saharan Africa development (including the Power Africa and Trade Africa initiatives to develop energy and infrastructure) appears on the business website AFKinsider.com.
