Michele Weldon

Michele Weldon is an award-winning author of five nonfiction books, including her latest, Escape Points: A Memoir, named an Editors Choice by Booklist in 2015. She is emerita faculty in journalism at Northwestern University, a senior leader with The OpEd Project and editorial director at Take The Lead. As a journalist for close to 40 years, Weldon is a frequent contributor to several top media sites and writes on gender, media, popular culture and violence against women and gives frequent keynotes on those topics. The mother of three grown sons, Weldon has time now for sketch classes and occasionally amateur roller derby, where her derby name is Mich The Masher.
