"It is our hope that we will be prepared for anything," said Bill Kramer, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences CEO.
Academy President Janet Yang revisited "the slap" and made a promise to attendees at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
Yang is the fourth woman to ever be president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The former "Tonight Show" host also questioned the Academy's plans to formally review what he described as "the most recorded assault in history."
The actor described his on-stage assault of Chris Rock at the Academy Awards as "shocking, painful and inexcusable."
It's still not clear what really went down after the actor slapped comedian Chris Rock during the live telecast.
Of course someone told the former president, "Sir, this is a Wendy's."
The 93rd Academy Awards are finally here, ending the longest, strangest awards season in recent history.
