The star soccer goalie said in a statement that she underestimated how destructive her relationship with alcohol had become.
The former U.S. Womens National Team goalie said, atthis time, my energies and focus are totally directed to my health, healing and taking care of my family.
Solos 2-year-old twins were in the car at the time of the incident.
U.S. women's soccer star goalkeeper Hope Solo was arrested at a suburban Seattle home on suspicion of assaulting her sister and 17-year-old nephew, but her attorney insisted that Solo herself was a victim in the altercation.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
"We're crushed," the former U.S. womens national soccer team goalkeeper said Saturday.
The soccer star and her husband, former NFL player Jerramy Stevens, said they were shocked and heartbroken" by the shooting.
"Miniature soccer team on the way," she said after announcing the news.
The former goalkeeper said Ellis "is not the leader I wish her to be."
Blatter says the accusation isn't true.
"Seventeen f**king years and it's over!"
