Security forces have continued their violent crackdown against dissent following last months military coup.
The protests against the military takeover of Myanmar's government continued despite reports that security forces killed at least 18 people a day before.
Myanmar has been in chaos since the army seized power and detained elected government leader Aung San Suu Kyi earlier this month.
Protesters denounced the military coup and demanded the release of elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, who pleaded not guilty to the charges on Monday, face up to 14 years in prison.
Lawyers for the two reporters on Wednesday asked the court to throw out the case, saying there was insufficient evidence to support charges against the pair.
A Reuters spokesperson said they should be freed.
