D'oh! 'The Simpsons' Predicted Donald Trump's Victory 16 Years Ago

Maybe we should have ignored the polls and consulted the oracle of “The Simpsons .”

An episode that premiered in March 2000 basically predicted Donald Trump’s victory , outlets pointed out.

In “Bart to the Future,” Bart is shown what lies ahead. The scenario includes sister Lisa as the U.S. president cleaning up the mess left by her predecessor, Trump. Apparently he caused “quite a budget crunch” to the point that the nation went broke. (That bit starts around 2:20.)

Dan Greaney told the Hollywood Reporter earlier that he wrote “Bart to the Future” as a “warning to America .”

“It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane,” he said.

Let’s hope life doesn’t imitate art, or else our economy will look like this:
